Opening: 
1. Rewrite your final draft sentence on a notecard and paste them together onto a piece of construction paper.

2. POST your image and absolute on the Wall of Champions.


3. Another chance to practice with absolutes.  Use Description 3

Work Period:
4. Return to your "Writing Workshop" packet.

5. What is the organization of the model essay: "Fun and Fiesty"?

Activity 2: 

  • What does the prompt require?
  • What will we write about?
6. Brainstorm about the topic in your small group

7. Share suggestions for a topic.

8. Consider: 
  • What is the function?
  • Why is it essential?
9. Write a "working" controlling idea.

10. Determine relative value of subtopics and explore details, examples, anecdotes, etc.
  • Sort details that you think can work together.
  • What order should they go in?
