  • How do I participate in a collaborative discussion about research findings?
  • How do I compare and contrast how similar information is presented in two films

Independent Reading Check
Opening:
1. Login to SBD: Activity 2.9. 



2.  Review the notes you took on the video "Ads in Schools".  What still needs to be filled in?

3. View the film one last time.  Go to the bottom of 2.9 and type up a summary of 4-5 key points made in the film.

4. Review your notes (and grade) from 2.7

CN: 4/14: "Two Films C/C"

  • Create a Venn or Double-Bubble representing key ideas that are shared in both films.
  • Include points of contrast - do the two films come to different conclusions about the role of advertising in the lives of youth?

5. Discussion Groups - For 5-10 minutes, discuss the similarities and differences between the two films.  Add to your C/C graphic organizer if necessary.

Work Period:
6.  Go back to Activity 2.8.  Review how to combine sources in a topic sentence.



7. Consider how to conclude a paragraph:

8. Respond to the Writing Prompt for 2.9.

  • Use Activity 2.7 and 2.9 for evidence to compare and contrast each.
